Hanoi (VNA) - The FPT Corporation and Vietnam Television (VTV) has kicked off the 2018-2019 Digital Race for all students at universities across the country and some schools in Asia.

Taking part in the competition, students will have chances to research, create and experience the newest technology in the field of self-driving cars.

With the participation of teams from universities in Asia, Vietnamese students will have the chance to exchange and learn knowledge and skills to prepare for work in the global environment.

The total prize fund is up to 1.5 billion VND (65,000 USD). The winning team will receive a reward worth more than 1.1 billion VND, including a one-week trip to learn about new technology in the US or Japan, 15 million VND in cash and a doctoral degree scholarship in artificial intelligence, worth 700 million VND, for the best candidate.

FPT General Director Bui Quang Ngoc said that the goal of FPT was not only to create a playground for young people in Vietnam to access and practice with the latest technology but also set up a global environment to equip them with the skills necessary to confidently enter the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The race will be held in three cities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

To participate in the competition, contestants can register at http://dangky.cuocduaso.fpt.com.vn. Each team must consist of three to four members of the same university.

Registration will be open from October 11 to November 5. The semi-final round will be held from March 1-31 next year. The final round will take place in April and May next year.-VNA
