In recent years, new technologies such as virtual reality, QR codes, videos, and 360-degree photos have been used at various historical sites to attract visitors in the digital age.
By using small audio-guide machines, all interesting information is easily conveyed to visitors. But they can't replace actual experiences, because only in a heritage space can people return to history and relive the old context vividly. Technology then becomes an effective way to help visitors to feel the value of the heritage.
Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, and Tay Ho districts all created a 360-degree space. The districts also applied automatic audio guides for many cultural, historical, and landscape monuments in their localities.
Most recently, the Ba Dinh district has also joined the game of digitizing heritage by using VR headsets and QR codes to introduce entertainment destinations to a large number of people and tourists.
QR codes will also be put up at many restaurants, cafes, and gymnasiums in this district to help advertise the cultural highlights of the locality./.
