A symposium on boosting public-private cooperation in health sector opened in Hanoi on May 26 with the participation of 500 representatives of hospitals, businesses and investors in and outside country.

The event, the fist of its kind in Vietnam , was jointly organised by the Health Ministry and the World Bank (WB).

At the conference, WB’s experts and representatives of the International Finance Company and businesses, presented overview reports on the investment environment and the demand for investment of the health sector in Vietnam .

They also provided consultancy for individuals and organisations who are interested in health investment in the Southeast Asian nation.

Addressing the event, Health Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu said the conference will create a forum for domestic and foreign investors to share their views on state policies and experiences in implementing public-private health cooperation while helping partners hold direct talks on healthcare investment opportunities.

He added that the conference will greatly contribute to improving the investment environment, attracting more domestic and foreign investors along with boosting cooperation between state-owned and non-state healthcare systems, helping enhance the quality of the country’s medical services./.
