Domestic gold prices followed the downward trend in the world market and dropped by 330,000 VND (15.7 VND) per tael from early this week to 36.02 million VND (1,715 USD) per tael.

This is the fifth gold price decrease this week and the lowest in the last three months.

Early this morning, Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC) in HCM City listed a selling price of 36.02 million VND per tael and a buying price of 35.90 million VND per tael for gold.

In the capital city, DOJI, Techcombank, Vietinbank Gold and Sacombank traded SJC bullion at a lower price of around 35.90-35.98 million VND per tael.

On September 12 morning, the world market price of gold dropped by 4 USD per ounce compared with that of the previous session and now stands at 1,236 USD per ounce.

Based on Vietcombank exchange rates, the world price of gold is 31.65 million VND per tael, 4.12 million VND (196 USD) lower than domestic price./.
