Quang Ngai (VNA) – Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd (Doosan Vina) said it has recently shipped three rail mounted quay cranes to India.

Each of the 1,400-tonne cranes is 84m high, 144m long and 26m wide. It is designed to handle 65-tonne containers.

They are part of an order for 12 cranes requested by the India-based Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited to deal with substantial throughput at its unit in the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai.

The cranes are expected to reach India’s biggest container port in two weeks.

As scheduled, Doosan Vina will export the remaining six cranes in 2018 and 2019.

To date, the company has sold 71 port cranes, including rubber tiered gantry cranes and rail mounted quay cranes to the Port of Singapore Authority, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust of India and Indonesia’s Samarinda.

Doosan Vina was established by Doosan Heavy Industry Inc. and Doosan Engineering & Construction on November 2006. It comprises of five factories, including a boiler factory, a petrochemical factory as well as a pier and port facilities.-VNA
