Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Ma Chol Su gave a reception on the 60th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties in Hanoi on Jan. 28.
Addressing the function, Ambassador Ma Chol Su affirmed that solidarity and cooperation between the two countries’ parties, states and people, which has its roots in the shared struggle against imperialism and for the sake of socialism, is the countries’ common heritage, fostered and developed from generation to generation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem stressed Vietnam ’s desire to further develop cooperation and traditional friendship between the party, government and people of both countries.
The Vietnamese people are pleased with the DPRK’s achievements, he said, wishing the DPRK to continue obtaining even greater achievements in order to implement its goal of “building a prosperous country by 2012”.
He said he believes that the two countries will see new steps in development in future, particularly in 2010 as they celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties./.
