The Party Central Committee’s Secretary Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on March 25 received Ri Yong-chol, First Secretary of the Kim Il-sung Socialist Youth League Central Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), who heads a youth delegation on a visit to Vietnam .

At the meeting, Ri Yong-chol congratulated Vietnam on the success of its 11 th National Party Congress and expressed his pleasure at the change to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 80 th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU).

He spoke highly of the role Vietnamese youth and the HCMCYU have played in the country’s construction and defence, adding that the DPRK Youth League hopes to boost cooperation with the HCMCYU with a view to exchanging information and experiences on youth movements, thus contributing to traditional friendship relations between the two Parties and countries.

Secretary Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan hailed the visit of Ri Yong-chol and his entourage as new development in cooperative relations between the two youth unions. She also echoed his hope that the two countries’ youth will continue to maintain and develop traditional cooperative relations as well as implement various exchange activities in order to enhance bilateral friendship and mutual understanding./.
