The draft revised Law on Land came under scrutiny at the plenary sitting of the National Assembly (NA)’s ongoing fifth session in Hanoi on June 17, presided over by its Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
 
Lawmakers from 43 centrally-governed cities and provinces voiced their opinions about the State management of land, planning, leasing, transfer of land use, land reclamation, compensation and resettlement support.

On top of these they discussed land registration, home ownership and other assets related to land, pricing, rights and responsibilities of land users, inspection, settlement of complaints and denunciations, among others.

Earlier, member of the NA Standing Committee cum Chairman of the NA Committee for Economic Affairs Nguyen Van Giau delivered a report on acquiring suggestions to the alternative draft.
The sitting was broadcast live nationwide.

On the morning of June 18, legislators will adopt a Resolution on the Law and Ordinance Building Programme for the NA’s 13 th tenure and 2014, and discuss the amended Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Prevention.

In the afternoon, they will pass the revised Law on Science and Technology and examine the amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation.-VNA
