Thanh Hoa (VNA) – Two men were arrested on November 17 in Na Meo commune, Quan Son district, the central province of Thanh Hoa, for allegedly transporting 26,200 methamphetamine pills.

They are 40-year-old Sung Van Dinh and 34-year-old Sung Van Ly, both residing in Cat hamlet, Nhi Son commune, Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province.

The men confessed that on November 15, they illegally entered Laos to buy the methamphetamine pills which were hidden in cans of beer and soft drinks, and intended to be sold in Vietnam.

The case is under further investigation.

On June 15, Thanh Hoa police also captured a man residing in Laos’ Houaphan province for transporting 1,200 methamphetamine pills.

Earlier this month, three people were arrested in the province for smuggling three bricks of heroin from Laos to Vietnam.-VNA
