Son La (VNA) – Police in the northern mountainous province of Son La arrested a suspect illegally transporting nearly 6.5 kilogrammes of heroin in Long Luong commune, Van Ho district, on April 17.

The suspected drug trafficker is Giang A Cau, born in 1981, a resident of Long Luong commune’s Ta De village.

The police seized 20 bars of heroin, 198 methamphetamine tablets, a motorbike and other related evidence.

On the same day, police in the northern province of Hoa Binh stopped two suspicious men on a motorbike on Highway 6 in Tuan Lo commune in Tan Lac district.

The forces discovered 10 bars of heroin (almost 3.5kg) under the bottom of the vehicle.

The two suspects, Nguyen Duc Thuan, born in 1973, and Ngo Duong Thanh, born in 1972, both residents of Thai Nguyen city in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, admitted they were hired to carry the drugs from Son La province to Hoa Binh province.

The two cases are under investigation by police in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces.-VNA
