The Dung Quat Oil Refinery, the first of its kind in Vietnam, has run smoothly and safely through 600 days and nights, during which it sold over 11 million tonnes of products to the market.

A ceremony was held on April 15 in the central province of Quang Ngai, where the plant is located, to mark the achievements of the refinery.

The global insurance companies and technology copyrights holders presented certificates certifying the safe, stable and effective operation of the plant, which is operated by the Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company (BSR).

Since its operation in 2009, the plant has sold 26.7 million tonnes of products, raking in 543 trillion VND (25.5 billion USD) in revenue, and contributing 86 trillion VND (4.03 billion USD) to the State budget.

In the first three months of 2014, it marketed nearly 1.7 million tonnes of products, gaining over 37 trillion VND (1.7 billion USD). It sent over 7 trillion VND (333 million USD) to the State budget.

This year, the BSR has set to earn 113.6 trillion VND (5.3 billion USD) from trading 5.18 million tonnes of products and contribute over 13.7 trillion VND (644 million USD) to the State budget.-VNA
