The General Department of Vietnam Customs on January 2 officially launched electronic-customs procedures in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
The procedures of this kind will be launched in other localities from January 8 to help individuals and organisations file customs declarations using digital signatures 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
It is expected to save people time and money, and accelerate the modernisation of administrative procedures in the country.
E-customs procedures have been piloted in Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City and 13 centrally-governed cities and provinces since 2005.-VNA
