Early-ripening lychees expected to wow market soon

In just a few days’ time, the early-ripening hybrid lychee hub of Hung Yen province will enter into its harvest season. Indeed, the lush, bountiful lychee orchards in Phu Cu district have been gradually turning red. Local farmers are diligently completing the final stages of preparations to supply the market with the first ripe, sweet, and succulent lychees.

Farmer Nguyen Xuan Khoat in Tam Da commune, Phu Cu district, Hung Yen province, is now busy preparing for the early-ripening hybrid lychee harvest. Despite harsh weather conditions, his orchard has yielded good fruit, thanks to his adherence to standard farming techniques.

With advantages from early ripening, along with its bright appearance and distinctive sweet taste, the hybrid lychees from Phu Cu have attracted significant customer interest. Local authorities have attempted to facilitate their distribution in recent years.

The early-ripening hybrid lychees are expected to be harvested from May 25, which is 10-15 days earlier than other lychee varieties. Hung Yen province will also hold a Lychee Bazaar at the Ecopak urban area in Van Giang district in early June, to promote its lychees among consumers./.
