The 8.9-magnitude earthquake, which jolted Indonesia on April. 11 afternoon, did not affect Vietnam much, said Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Geophysics Le Huy Minh.

On Apr. 11, Minh said that only people living in high buildings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City felt a small shake.

Late on the afternoon of Apr. 11, earthquake station in the southern region measured its aftermaths of under 5 on the Richter scale.

Minh affirmed that there will be no tsunami warning.

Earlier, 8.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Indonesia 's northwestern Aceh province.-VNA
