The National Steering Committee for International Integration of Education, Science and Technology held its regular meeting in Hanoi on August 6 under the chair of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan.
With the aim to standardise and modernise the education sector between now and 2020, the Ministries of Education and Training (MoET) and Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) jointly built a project on international integration of education and vocational training, according to a report heard at the meeting.
The plan, which is also expected to improve education quality and meet the country’s human resources demand, is being considered by the Prime Minister, the report continued.
The MoET is devising a plan to build international standard universities by 2020, and accelerating construction of the Vietnam-Germany, Vietnam-UK, Vietnam-Japan and Vietnam-Russia Universities as well as Fulbright University in the country.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Science and Technology is continuing to put together legal documents and policies, implementing science-technology development programmes and projects, strengthening international integration and calling for foreign investment in hi-tech parks.
The ministry has been developing a project on international integration of science-technology by 2020, which is expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister by the end of this year.
It also reported that human resources training for nuclear power plant projects is underway.-VNA
