Players from India, Hong Kong, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will vie for gold medals in the men’s and women’s individual events and the men’s and women’s team events.
According to Tran Trong Truc, General Secretary of the HCM City Table Tennis Federation, RoK players are favourites for men’s titles while Zeng Jian of Singapore will be the top contender for the women’s individual event.
Tran Quan Quynh, Le Tien Dat and Nguyen Anh Tu will be the host nation’s hopefuls at the tournament.-VNA
