Bangkok (VNA) — Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung on December 10 hailed the Vietnamese Embassy and other agencies in Thailand for contributing to promoting Vietnam-Thailand relations.

Visiting the embassy on the occasion of attending the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games, Hung said that the Party and State view cultural diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges as pivotal bridges for maintaining sustainable cooperation.

Highlighting Thailand as a close neighbour with a large Vietnamese community, the minister noted that conditions are favourable for promoting Vietnam’s culture and beauty to Thai friends.

He affirmed that the ministry will prioritise coordinating with the embassy in joint external affairs activities.

Specifically, Hung proposed organising a "Vietnamese Culture Day in Thailand" or supporting a reciprocal "Thai Culture Day in Vietnam." He also suggested elevating these events into a broader culture, sports, and tourism festival to connect destinations and promote tourism.
