Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia has launched another hotline to better protect Vietnamese citizens who come to cheer the final first leg between Vietnam and Malaysia in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018.
In case of emergency, Vietnamese football fans in Malaysia can contact 60 11 3668 2866 for support. They can also reach the embassy through hotlines 60 321 484 534, 06 321 410 709 or the citizen protection hotline of 84 981848484.
On December 7, the Vietnamese Embassy issued an emergency warning to Vietnamese football fans, who will come to Malaysia to cheer on their side in the final first leg of the tournament scheduled on December 11.
Besides bearing passports with validity of at least six months, they are advised to protect their personal documents and belongings and respect Malaysia’s legal regulations as well as customs and practices of the country, including no smoking and drinking alcohol at public and wine-banned restaurants.
At the same time, the embassy also worked with representatives of relevant agencies of Malaysia, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Malaysia Football Association to ask for support to Vietnamese fans to buy tickets and measures to ensure security and safety for them.
Following the embassy’s request, the organising board has designed an area exclusively for Vietnamese fans at the stadium.-VNA
