The Vietnamese Embassy staff in Malaysia pledged to actively contribute to increasing the friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.

Ambassador Pham Cao Phong made the remark while meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Huynh Ngoc Son on September 10.

Legislator Son, who is in Malaysia to attend the the 36th General Assembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 36), briefed the Embassy staff on the social-economic situation in Vietnam and preparations for the all-level Party congresses towards the 12th National Party Congress in early 2016.

He hailed the staff’s efforts to promote external affairs and particularly enacting measures to enhance the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries after the establishment of the bilateral strategic partnership during the official Malaysia visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in August 2015.

He called on the embassy to further support Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Malaysia.-VNA
