Employees receive housing rent support

Employees working in enterprises and those returning to the labour market will receive support in housing rent, according to a new Government policy.

Hanoi (VNA) – Employees working in enterprises and those returning tothe labour market will receive support in housing rent, according to a newGovernment policy.

Specifically, labourers currently working in companies atindustrial parks, export processing zones or key economic regions will receive500,000 VND (21.86 USD) per month in a maximum of three months.

They are required to rent housing from February 1 to June30, have an indefinite-term labour contract or a definite-term labour contractof at least 1 month before April 1, participate in compulsory social insurancein the month preceding the time when the enterprise makes a list of employees requestinghousing rent support.

In case the employees do not join compulsory socialinsurance, they must be named in the company’s payroll in the month prior to the time when it makes the request.

For those returning to the labour market, the new policy will provide them with 1 million VND per month each in a maximum ofthree months.

To receive the aid, they must rent houses from April 1 toJune 30, and meet all requirements as mentioned above./.
