With a capacity to balance the marine ecology and generate economic values for medicinal and decorative purposes, hawksbill sea turtles are on the edge of extinction as they are the target of hunters worldwide, said Le Xuan Lam, Manager of the Cu Chi Wildlife Rescue Station, which released the twelve hawksbill sea turtles.
The endangered species is now under a strict protection, he said, adding that it has been listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the Red Book World./.
