A number of measures to help monitor how policies on ethnic people in the central highlands, central southern and southeastern regions are working are high on the agenda of a seminar in Lam Dong province.

At the two-day event, which ends on Dec. 29, the participants will focus their discussions on the role of elected agencies and auditing.

They suggested enhancing the role of National Assembly deputies and People’s Councils at all levels and decentralising management.

Vice Chairman President of the NA’s Council of Ethnic Minorities Giang A Chu highlighted the results of the country’s ethnic policies. However, he pointed out poor supervision and slack management in some areas.

The solutions put forward at the seminar will be enable the Council and Committee of Ethnic Minorities to finalise the monitoring of ethnic policies and improve the capabilities of State agencies, he said./.
