EU praises Vietnam’ role in ASEAN

The theme “From vision to action” in the year, Vietnam undertakes the ASEAN chair reflects this role, he said.

He also said that ASEAN could not do important things without takingvision and goals, but at the same time, everything depends on theimplementation of ideas and visions.

On thesidelines of the ASEAN meetings on July 23, Minister Janes Martonyi saidthe EU spoke highly of the signing of the third protocol on amendmentsto the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) which allow for EU accessto the TAC.

According to the head of the EUdelegation, the relationship between the EU and ASEAN is continuing todevelop. He said the EU is committed to strong cooperation with ASEANmember countries and interested in developing trade and economic tiesthrough the Foreign Trade Agreement (FTA).

As amajor partner of ASEAN, the EU wishes to participate in and contributeto the regional structure and, “access to TAC is an important step inthis process”, he asserted.

On the occasion, heexpressed thanks for Vietnam’s chairmanship role and its contribution tocreating favourable conditions for the EU’s participation in thisimportant regional treaty.

He also underlined thatthe EU appreciates its bilateral ties with Vietnam. At present, the twosides have just concluded the 8 th round of negotiations on aPartnership and Cooperation Agreement./.

The dispatch states that in implementing Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW dated April 2, 2026 of the 14th Party Central Committee on the 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt management and medium-term public investment, linked to the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth, the Government on April 29 issued 11 resolutions on cutting, decentralising and simplifying administrative procedures, business conditions, and conditional business lines. The Prime Minister subsequently directed ministries, agencies and localities to implement these resolutions.

Vietnamese, Angolan foreign ministers hold talks in Hanoi
