Hanoi (VNA) - An exhibition, themed “Van hoa soi duong cho quoc dan di” (Culture lights the way for national advancement), will be held at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts in Hanoi from November 16-27, as part of activities to celebrate the 2021 National Cultural Conference.
The event also aims to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
On display will be 320 photos and over 123 valuable artefacts divided into different areas: Vietnamese culture before 1930; President Ho Chi Minh and the cause of Vietnamese cultural development; Party and State leaders and cultural development; Vietnamese culture during the struggle for national liberation and reunification; Vietnamese culture during international integration and development; and the preservation and promotion of national cultural heritage.

President Ho Chi Minh always emphasised the important role of culture and attached importance to culture on a par with the economy, politics and society.
Depicting his thoughts on culture, the exhibition will feature photos, artefacts, documents and letters related to the great leader and artists, intellectuals and scientists. There will also be manuscripts and literary works on culture and the arts written by him.
Notably, several valuable artefacts highlighting President Ho Chi Minh’s simple and noble lifestyle will be introduced to the public at the exhibition.
Photos capturing moments of Uncle Ho visiting heritage sites and historical places show his special attention to the national cultural heritage.
He always reminded people to respect, preserve and promote the value of the national cultural heritage.
President Ho Chi Minh is also the one who laid the foundation for international cultural exchanges. He was always well aware of the important role of culture in enhancing the position of the nation in the international arena because culture is the bridge between peoples and it helps improve mutual understanding.
During his life of revolutionary activities, Uncle Ho traveled to many countries, leaving many imprints of friendship and solidarity, contributing to the struggle for peace and progress of mankind. As an outstanding cultural celebrity of mankind, his contributions and ideas are honoured and respected by the people of Vietnam and the world.

Visitors will have the chance to learn about the Party’s documents and resolutions on culture approved during National Party Congresses. Worthy of note is a draft on Vietnamese culture in 1943, which is considered the first Party document on culture.
Photos, documents and artefacts highlighting the contributions of culture and arts to the revolutionary cause will also be introduced to visitors. Through the exhibits, visitors can learn about the contributions of culturists and artists to the resistant wars for national independence and reunification.
The exhibition also highlights Vietnamese outstanding achievements in culture, family, tourism and sports and activities to promote the country’s culture in foreign countries.
Photos, documents and data relating to the preservation and promotion of national cultural heritage in recent years are also on display. They show the country’s efforts in preserving and developing the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, including those recognized by UNESCO.
The exhibits will be on display at the National Assembly House on Doc Lap street, Ba Dinh district on November 24. The online edition of the exhibition will take place via website http://trienlamvhnt.vn from November 16./.
