Hanoi (VNA) – An exhibition on the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) opened at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts in Hanoi on January 18, to mark the CPV’s 91st founding anniversary (February 3, 1930-2021) and welcome the upcoming 13th National Party Congress.

The “Dang ta that la vi dai!” (Great is Our Party!) exhibition was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Library of Vietnam, the Vietnam Military History Museum, and the Museum of Vietnamese Youth.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong said the exhibition aims to highlight the CPV’s leadership during the country’s struggle for independence, the “Doi Moi” (renewal) process, and national construction, and the Vietnamese people’s achievements in constructing and safeguarding the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The event also provides an opportunity to educate Vietnamese people, especially youths, on patriotism and inspire them to keep faith in and stay proud of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, Cuong remarked.

He described it as an event to honour the country’s revolutionary achievements in the “Doi Moi” process and today’s development and international integration.

The exhibition features multiple sections, describing how the Party led the Vietnamese people to independence and recorded great achievements during the “Doi Moi” (renewal) process and the era of international integration, as well as Party building efforts today.

One section showcases photos and archives on the CPV’s history. It tells stories about what led to the establishment of the Party – a pioneering organization for the working class – on February 3, 1930, the role of President Ho Chi Minh as its founder, and how the Party gathered people from all walks of life to build revolutionary forces and achieved a glorious victory in the August General Uprising in 1945, setting the scene for the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Of particular note, images of the previous 12 National Party Congresses and nearly 60 posters featuring the 13th National Party Congress are on display in a separate section.

Another section exhibits photos on the contributions made by the Vietnam People’s Army and the People’s Public Security in the construction and safeguarding of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

Photos, documents, and other exhibits depicting the trust of Vietnamese youth in the Communist Party of Vietnam’s leadership and how they have followed President Ho Chi Minh’s words are also on display.

The event will run until January 24.

The CPV was established in Hong Kong (China) in February 1930.

The first plenum of the Party Central Committee, which was held in Hong Kong in October 1930, adopted the political programme and important resolutions on urgent tasks to mobilise particular groups of the masses.

The first National Party Congress took place in Macau, China, from March 27-31, 1935, with the participation of 13 delegates from domestic Party committees as well as overseas Party organisations.

Since its establishment, the Party has held 12 National Congresses, each of which marked important historical milestones in recognising the Vietnamese revolution's victories, achievements and lessons./.
