Exhibition promotes craft villages

Sixteen craft villages of the Kinh, Hoa, Cham and Khmer ethnic groups in the southern region gathered at an exhibition that opened in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho on April 27.
Sixteen craft villages of the Kinh, Hoa, Cham and Khmer ethnic groups in the southern region gathered at an exhibition that opened in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho on April 27.

The villages operate in various areas such as knitting, weaving, fine arts and wooden sculpture.

The four-day exhibition aims to affirm the role and position played by craft villages in the Mekong Delta region’s socio-economic development, honours artisans and promote traditional products.

The exhibition marks the 37 th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification and 10 th year of the implementation of Resolution 21 of the Political Bureau on the building and development of the Mekong Delta region during the 2001-2010 period.-VNA
