Hanoi (VNA) – Export of electric wire and cable earned Vietnam nearly 1.6 billion USD in the January-November period, up 24.7 percent compared to the same period last year, according to statistics of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The figure for November alone was 150 million USD.

High growth was seen in the export of the products to China, Japan and the Republic of Korea this year.

China alone spent 530.79 million USD to import electric wire and cable from Vietnam in the first 10 months of the year, an increase of 39.1 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the value of shipments to the RoK went up by 34.46 percent, and that to Japan, by 21.46 percent.

At present, Vietnam has more than 200 enterprises producing and exporting electric wire and cable. -VNA
