Export to Canada enjoys 20.76 percent surge

Vietnam earned 143.64 million USD from its export to Canada in January, a year-on-year increase of 20.76 percent, according to customs statistics.

Of the revenue, 28 percent or 40.36 million USD were contributed by garment and textile, followed by aquatic products with 15.73 million USD, and footwear, 12.26 million USD.

Other Vietnamese exports to the North America country in January include electronic products and spare parts (up 51.13 percent), base metals (up 196 percent), and vegetables and fruits (up 111.96 percent).

Since the two countries signed their bilateral Trade and Commerce Agreement in 1995, two-way trade surged by 20 times, hitting 1.6 billion USD in 2012 and approximately 1.54 billion USD last year.-VNA
