Vietnam is expected to fetch at least 68 billion USD from exports in the second half of the year, bringing the total yearly export value to 129 billion USD.

According to the Industrial and Trade Information Centre under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, that figure represents a 12.5 percent increase compared to last year.

During the period, the country’s import value is estimated to reach 70 billion USD, raising the year’s total imports to 132 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of 14.5 percent.

The figures mean that this year’s trade deficit will reach about 3 billion USD, accounting for 2.5 percent of the country’s total import-export value.-VNA
