The 2014 International Agriculture Fair kicked off on December 10 in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho, welcoming more than 300 local and foreign businesses to display their wares in 450 pavilions.

The exhibitors showcase high quality agricultural products, and even latest technological innovations in agriculture, particularly the food processing industry.

A series of seminars are planned for issues related to agricultural productivity and post harvest technologies, aimed at creating favourable conditions for scientists and farmers to share knowledge and experience.

The event offers opportunities for farmers and enterprises to introduce products, seek partners, expand trade promotion and bolster the export of agro-fisheries products.

On the same day, the Vietnamese products – Da Nang 2014 EXPO opened in the central city of Da Nang with the aim of promoting the consumption of Vietnamese products.

The expo, organised by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, has drawn the participation of 190 businesses nationwide to showcase their products at 415 booths.

The fair is held in response to the “Vietnamese using Vietnamese products” campaign.

During the fair, which runs until May 19, many additional activities will allow businesses to promote new products and seek cooperation opportunities.-VNA
