Dak Nong (VNA) – Authorities of the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong on October 24 issued a press release about an incident at sub-area 1535, Quang Truc commune, Tuy Duc district that left three people dead.

At 6:30am on October 23, locals clashed with a group of workers and guards from Long Son trading company who had come to carry out site clearance.

The locals opened fire at 8am, killing three and injuring 16 others.

The injured were admitted to a local medical facility for treatment, 12 of whom suffered severe injuries and were rushed to the provincial general hospital.

Provincial leaders visited the injured at the hospital and offered them 34 million VND in aid.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Pham Dung arrived at the scene to give directions shortly after the incident.

Provincial authorities reported the incident to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and instructed the district People’s Committee to stabilise the situation and visit the families of the victims.

The site examination is ongoing and those involved in the incident are being called in for questioning.

Provincial and Binh Phuoc police are working together to arrest those involved in the murders.-VNA
