Favourable conditions foster VN-Indonesia ties

Vice National Assembly (NA) Chairman Uong Chu Luu made the statement at a meeting with Vice Chairman of the Indonesia House of Representatives’ Legislation Council, Dimyati Natakusumah, in Hanoi on March 3.

Vietnam always attaches importance to further increasing friendship and cooperation with Indonesia bilaterally as well as in regional and international forums as the two countries are ASEAN members and the two legislative bodies are AIPA members, Luu said.

The Vietnamese legislative body is willing to exchange viewpoints, information and experiences with the Indonesia House of Representatives on issues of common concern and strengthen cooperation to oversee the implementation of joint agreements, as well as create a favourable legal environment for Indonesian investors to do business in Vietnam .

The Deputy NA Chairman also appreciated the working results between the Indonesia House of Representatives Legislation Council and the Vietnamese NA’s Legal Committee and Institute of Legislative Research , suggesting the agencies boost exchanges and cooperation.

Dimyati Natakusumah expressed his pleasure at the results of his working session with Vietnamese NA’s agencies and spoke highly of Vietnam ’s progress in offering legal aid service to the people.

He also congratulated Vietnam on achieving economic growth and maintaining socio-economic stability, saying he hoped the Vietnamese government would continue to create favourable conditions for Indonesian investors in Vietnam .

He said he wished that the Vietnam-Indonesia relations would develop further in accordance with the desire and benefit of both peoples, thus making contributions to peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region.

During its stay in Vietnam from March 2-5, the Indonesian delegation will work with the Ministry of Justice and the Vietnam Lawyers Association./.
