So far this year, the southern province of Tay Ninh has attracted 432.3 million USD of foreign direct investment, 2.6 times the figure the same period last year.

Of the total, new investment is nearly 260 million USD and the rest, additional investment from existing projects.

Most of the investment is from China , Republic of Korea , Hong Kong , Brunei and Thailand , a large part of which is made to garment, fabrics, automobiles, paint and animal feed.

At present, Tay Ninh, one of the largest destinations for FDI in the country, counts 217 foreign invested projects with a combined capital of 2.4 billion USD.

In the period under review, foreign invested projects have recorded a total revenue of 426 million USD, 21.8 percent higher than that in the same period last year; paid 148.8 billion VND (7.08 million USD) to the State budget, 63.6 percent more than the first half of 2013; and created jobs for over 80,000 local workers.-VNA
