On the evening of October 28th, there was a severe landslide in Trà Leng commune of Nam Trà My district, Quảng Nam province.

Mud and rocks from the landslide flattened all of 11 houses in No1 village and buried 55 people.

After hearing the news, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has issued an emergency telegram that directed the relevant authorities and forces concentrating efforts to rescue the victims of the landslide.

On executing the PM's telegram, Quảng Nam province and the High Command of Military Region 5 jointly established the Forward Command Center on the morning of October 29th, with headquarters was on Bắc Trà My district, to direct the rescuing mission.

After 2 days of searching, local authorities have rescued 33 people. But 8 people were found dead and 14 still missing (numbers from August 30th).

Until now, the rescue force on the field has increased to nearly 1,000 people. They also got help from 3 serviced dogs and multiple drones. All the efforts just to find survivors of the landslide

Trà Leng commune was one of the hardest-hit areas after storm Molave sweeping through Vietnam. Until October 30th, the storm has killed 23 people and made 44 people missing.

It also destroyed 2,600 houses and ripped the roofs of more than 90,000 houses. The storm damaged 32 offices, 157 schools, 20 bridges, and drain lines. It uprooted more than 8,000 trees and destroyed more than 5,000 hectares of rice and crops./.
