As of February 15, women who work in heavy or dangerous jobs or a toxic environment will be entitled to enjoy five months after delivery instead of four months.

This is the main content of circular 41 issued by the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs on December 30, 2009 to replace circular 3 issued in 2007 that guides the implementation of the Law on Social Insurance.

Circular 41 stated that female workers who have worked in remote and mountainous areas with severe temperatures and a poor infrastructure for six consecutive months will also be allowed to enjoy a five-month maternity leave.

Finalisation of the working regulations for female workers will ensure women’s rights and enable women to make a bigger contribution to family and society, says the circular./.
