Street-locatedarrangements of flowers brightened up Da Lat city, the Central Highlandsprovince of Lam Dong, which is in the dull grey of winter, on December23 in a festival to wrap up the National Tourism Year of CentralHighlands – Da Lat 2014.
The festival themed “Da Lat –Colors of winter”, the last festive event of the year, was highlightedby a collection of flowers, such as pansy, daisy and pink aster, mingledwith 150 wooden folk statues made by craftsmen from Lam Dong, Gia Lai,Kon Tum, Dak Lak provinces to represent the city of four seasons offlowers.
Another flower exhibition took place at thecity’s Flower Garden to introduce hundreds of signature flowers of thecold land, including orchids, lilies, roses, daisies and carnations,which made Da Lat a “city of thousands flowers”.
Inaddition, market day stores were placed in Nguyen Van Cu Street, sellingflowers and eye-catching fruits and vegetables grown in Da Lat, such asbeetroots, baby cucumbers, salads and strawberry trees in pot, for theupcoming New Year holiday.
A series of tours were alsodesigned on the occasion to take tourists to local famous flowervillages – Thai Phien, Ha Dong, and Van Thanh or to visit ethnicminority people and explore their daily lives and culture.
Da Lat is Vietnam’s most famous resort city which is surroundedby a series of pine-covered hills, lakes, higher peaks and manybuildings in French architectural style.
During thisyear’s festive season, the city is resplendent with hundreds of flowersblooming either side of steeping paved paths and Christmas decorationsin every corner./.
Exhibition on Lenin portraits opens in Hanoi
