Final rehearsal held for Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024

The Ministry of National Defence on December 17 conducted the final rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defence Expo, scheduled to take place in Hanoi from December 19 to 22.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of National Defence on December 17 conducted the final rehearsal for the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defence Expo, scheduled to take place in Hanoi from December 19 to 22.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defence and head of the steering committee for the expo, commended the efforts and dedication by the forces participating in the rehearsal, praising the effective management and organisation of the event.

He directed the expo’s organising board to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Public Security to deploy traffic police alongside military personnel to manage traffic flow from the main roads leading to the exhibition area.

The expo, themed "Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Mutual Development," coincides with the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All People's National Defence Festival (December 22, 1989 - 2024).

Spanning 100,000 sq.m, the event at Gia Lam Airport will be divided into three main sections, providing attendees with a comprehensive and engaging experience.

Domestic and international defence exhibitors will showcase advanced military equipment, weaponry, and cutting-edge technological solutions.

The expo will also feature a Vietnamese cultural space and an exhibition highlighting Vietnam’s achievements in building the people's armed forces and the all people's national defence, the tradition and 80-year attainments of the VPA, along with outstanding digital transformation results of several military agencies and enterprises.

The event will also include exchange programmes designed to foster cooperation among agencies, units, and enterprises, as well as seminars focused on military technology.

The public will have free access to the expo from the afternoon of December 21 until December 22./.
