Vinh Phuc (VNA) – The northern province of Vinh Phuc received on February 28 medical equipment and materials presented by Toyota Vietnam to help with the fight against the acute respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).

The Vinh Phuc-based company supports the province, which recorded 11 of the 16 COVID-19 cases in Vietnam, all of whom have fully recovered, with 400 infrared thermal scanners and 500 litres of antiseptic solution.

Informing the sponsor of initial results of local anti-COVID-19 efforts, President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Tuan Khanh said amid complex developments of the disease around the world, Vinh Phuc hopes to receive more assistance from sectors, localities, businesses and the public in protecting and caring for people’s health.

Later the same day, the medical equipment and materials were delivered to high schools in Vinh Phuc.

Earlier, 400,000 fabric face masks had also been presented to local residents by the Shinwon Ebenzer Vietnam and Vina Korea companies, located in Khai Quang Industrial Park of the province’s Vinh Yen city.

Meanwhile, facing the disease’s impact on many businesses, the provincial People’s Committee has requested relevant agencies and local administrations to swiftly carry out support for them.

Vinh Phuc accommodates many enterprises in its industrial parks, and they are employing about 87,000 labourers, including those from some countries affected by COVID-19. Despite strict monitoring, there still exist latent disease spreading risks.

Additionally, many large firms, especially in garment, footwear, electronics and mechanics sectors, will run out of input materials for production in the second quarter of this year since most of the materials have to be imported from China, where the SARS-CoV-2 is raging. If the problem is not solved soon, their production will likely fall into stagnation./.
