First agricultural business incubator to become operational

The nation’s first hi-tech agricultural business incubator is expected to go into operation in Ho Chi Minh City this quarter, to help businesses access hi-tech agricultural products for domestic use and export.
The nation’s first hi-tech agricultural business incubator is expected to go into operation in Ho Chi Minh City this quarter, to help businesses access hi-tech agricultural products for domestic use and export.

According to the incubator’s Director Nguyen Hai An, the centre will support new enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises with feasible projects to apply advanced technologies in growing vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, bonsai trees and medicinal herbs.

In 2010, the incubator plans to help between 3-5 enterprises produce organic vegetables, different varieties of orchids and bio products.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also has plans to develop hi-tech agriculture until 2020, focusing on cultivation, animal husbandry, forestry, aquaculture, food processing.

With the new establishment, Vietnam now has seven hi-tech business incubators operating in the fields of information technology, electronic mechanics, new materials technology, nano technology, applied biology, medicine and agriculture./.
