Vietnam’s first ever film project market is taking place in Hanoi on November 24 and 25 as part of activities of the third Hanoi International Film Festival 2014.

Coorganized by BHD-Vietnam Media Corp and the Cinema Department, the market aims to provide a chance for filmmakers from Vietnam and other countries to introduce and promote their ideas to producers, distributors and potential investors.

Ngo Phuong Lan, Director of Cinema Department said the event also hopes to attract international distributors and film festivals.

The event has attracted nearly 100 film projects. The organizing board has selected the best five projects, which are “30 days of ginger”, “A share of paradise”, “Honeygiver among the dogs”, “ A wong season” and “ We ain’t nice always”.

The 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival was kicked off in Hanoi on November 23 with the theme “Cinema – Integration and Sustainable Development”.

Out of 411 movies sent from all over the world, 130 from 32 countries and territories were selected to attend the festival.

They will compete in different categories including Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Feature Film Director, Best Short Film Director, Best Actor and Actress in Leading Roles.

Vietnam sends two feature films and 12 short films to the festival.-VNA
