A Korean language class for nearly 100 labourers in nine poor districts in northern Yen Bai and central Thanh Hoa provinces opened in Hanoi on June 15.

The course, the first of its kind in the country, is one of the activities to kickstart the government’s programme to send labourers in 61 poor districts nationwide abroad.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Hoa said that the course not only trains the Korean language for the poor but also provides them with living skills and working styles in a modern industrial country.

He added that the ministry plans to train Korean language for at least 1,000 labourers in poor districts each year in an effort to have 700-800 eligible for working in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

While appreciating the Vietnamese government’s policy, Lee Myung Hee, a representative from the RoK Agency for Human Resource Development, pledged to create the best conditions for Vietnamese poor workers to work in his country./.
