The first theory conference between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party was opened in Hanoi on January 10 to discuss key theoretical and practical issues in the acceleration of renewal in the two countries.
In his report, head of the Vietnamese delegation Dinh The Huynh, who is also Politburo member, Secretary of the Vietnamese Party Central Committee, head of the Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Training, and head of the Central Theory Council, highlighted the significance of the two-day conference as a chance for the two Parties to exchange views on urgent issues that arise in the renewal and development in each country.
It also creates an opportunities for the two sides to learn experiences from the other in the context that the two countries are developing a socialist-oriented market economy and accelerating the policy of openness, international integration, national industrialisation and modernisation, Huynh said.
For his part, head of the Lao delegation Cheuang Sombounkanh, who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee, head of its Propaganda-Training Committee, and president of the Lao National Social Science Council, stressed that the conference will help scientists of the two sides to intensify mutual understanding, exchange information, views and ways to study each other’s experiences.
This would help consolidate and strengthen the role as well as the leading and managing ability of the two Parties and States in the renewal for greater achievement, he added./.VNA
