A village named “Vietnam-the Republic of Korea (RoK) Friendship Village” was inaugurated in southern Vinh Long province on April 11, becoming the first of its kind in Vietnam.

At the first stage, the village, in Vung Liem town, Vung Liem district, provides 41 houses, each worth 30 million VND (around 1,500 USD), for poor locals and those who lost their houses due to landslide.

The 2 billion VND project saw the RoK side’s contribution of more than 1.2 billion VND.

The district authorities are now campaigning for the implementation of the second stage of the project.-VNA
