Nearly 2,000 people took part in Vietnam’s first ever slipper walk to raise money for poor children in Ho Chi Minh City on March 17.

The walk was jointly organised by the city’s District 7 Sports Centre and the Happy Feet Project.

The money raised will go to the Project on Preventing Poor Children Leaving School of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights, KOTO Foundation – a vocational programme for street and disadvantaged youth, and the Vietnam-Australia Loreto Programme, which offers education for poor children with disabilities.-VNA
