The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines on August 19 coordinated with local relevant agencies to complete procedures for 12 Vietnamese fishermen who had met with an accident to return home.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Nguyen Vu Tu met with the fishermen at the airport before they flew to the home country.

The fishermen of fishing vessel QNg 90510TS were in distress in a storm. They were drifted into the Philippines’ territorial waters and rescued by the Philippine naval force on July 27.

Two days earlier, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tu held a working session with the Western Naval Command in the Palawan region, expressing thanks to its officers and soldiers for rescuing the Vietnamese fishermen.

The action reflected fine relations between the Vietnamese and Philippine Governments in general and between the two countries’ naval forces in particular in joint search and rescue efforts at sea./.
