Forty five Vietnamese fishermen and three Filipinos have been rescued over the last three days, according to the Quang Ninh-based Coastal Information Station.

On Oct. 21, a fishing vessel was capsized by strong waves in the water off the southernmost province of Ca Mau, and all six sailors were rescued hours after the distress signal reached the station via radio waves.

One day later, 39 fishermen were brought ashore safely from another vessel that suffered engine failure on October 20 off the central city of Quy Nhon .

Also on Oct. 22, three Filipino sailors who had drifted on 3m-long canoes for several days in the area of Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago were rescued by a Vietnamese fishing vessel.-VNA
