Less than six months after the victory, the order by the Algerian National Liberation Front on the uprising was issued on November 1, 1954. Guerilla forces synchronously attacked French offices and military targets. The struggle by the Algerian people forced the French government to recognise Algeria’s independence and territorial integrity, putting an end to the 132-year domination by France.

Following the ceasefire order in 1954, many North African soldiers who deserted the French army rank built their own village at the foot of Ba Vi mountain under the direction by Mohamed. They built the Morocco Gate as a symbol of the Morocco-Vietnam friendship.
