Flash flood, triggered by torrential rains that have occurred consecutively from Sept. 24 through 26, also inundated 5,500 households and damaged more than 11,000 ha of rice and subsidiary crops, and caused the traffic in and from the province stranded.
Initial economic damage was estimated to hit 265 billion VND.
On September 26, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent an urgent telegram to northern and central provinces and relevant ministries and agencies requiring them to stay alert and prepare for a possible arrival of a big storm, which is moving quickly to the East Sea area./.
