The Ministry of Health has recommended that the educational sector take precautionary measures against the A/H1N1 flu on the occasion of new school year.

Teachers, students and school staff across the country should take good care of their health, each and every day, the ministry said in a statement on August 17.

If someone presents signs of illness such as fever, cough, and sore throat, he or she must stay at home, not go to school, the ministry said.

They must also report immediately to their school leaders and local health authorities, it added.

On the same day, the ministry announced that 21 people, who are members of the Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture, Arts and Tourism’s working delegation to Lao Cai province and who were infected with the flu, have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

The ministry also reported that as many as 56 people nationwide were confirmed positive with the flu within the day, bringing the total number of cases of the super-flu in Vietnam to 1,510, and resulting in two fatalities./.
