Dairy farmers said they will be petitioning to Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Agriculture Minister Chalermchai Sri-on to seek urgent help.
Farmers in Tambon Lamphaya Klang, a district in Saraburi where most of the dairy cows were reported to have been infected, reported that their cows started to show symptoms of the highly infectious disease since January 5.
Meanwhile, a veterinarian at the provincial veterinary office said the outbreak has been confined in 108 of about 2,300 dairy farms in Saraburi province.
The situation has improved though, with 1,000 sick cows having recovered after treatment, he said./.
